As is tradition, when the board of education holds its meetings at our schools, they start with recognition of students, staff, volunteers and community.
Berklee College of Music logo Jazz student musician selects Berklee
U-E is proud to recognize our seniors who will continue their education in music. We will highlight each of them in the coming weeks. Our second musical spotlight is Mary Orji.

French flag French exchange students enjoyed their trip
Partnering with Maine Endwell, our U-E French exchange students traveled to France, enjoying food, culture and all the sites the country has to offer.
Italian flag Italian exchange trip a success
Students returned over the weekend from their trip to Italy where they stayed with host families, toured various cities, museums and points of interest and immersed themselves in the culture.
Career on keyboard Professionals talk with students about future
Having the opportunity to meet and talk with professionals can set the right tone for students who may be unsure of what direction they want to go. To help some of our UE students find that direction, student members of JFS Brother to Brother and UEHS The Squad spent a couple of hours with area professionals as part of both clubs’ third College and Career Fair.
Poetry CFJ students share poetry
Working with different grade levels is often fun for students. Not only do the learn something new, they learn about each other as well as building school-wide friendships. One way students did this at CFJ is when second-graders in Lisa Ricci’s class shared their poems with Yale Williams’s fourth-graders.
YES Leads logo YES Leaders work with elementary students
UEHS YES Leaders visited GFJ and TJW fifth-grade students recently to talk to them about being safe and making smart, healthy choices
