A beautiful new mural of a U-E tiger has materialized on the exterior of Tiger Ventures (LWW) facing the new playground. This beautiful piece of art, however, did not appear overnight.
Last year, Tiger Ventures senior Joseph Dean brought the idea of a mosaic mural to life through his Eagle Scout project. Joseph planned out his project over the course of the school year, all while meeting the requirements of, and gaining approval from, the LWW building, his scouting leadership team, and the U-E school board. In order to see his vision come to fruition, Joseph worked closely with Katelyn Perrino, who acted as his in-school advisor. Joseph also worked as a mentor under influential mural artist Emily Jablon to create the stunning tiger mural.

After months of approvals, paperwork, and a lot of planning, the mural took shape and was completed over the course of three days in September of this year! While Joseph and Emily take the cake for the vision and overall completion of the mural, they were not the only ones involved! Almost every student at Tiger Ventures, and even some teachers, placed a piece on the mural, keeping with the Tiger Ventures tradition of student individuality and collaboration! Members of Joseph's scout leadership team also participated.
Joseph has since graduated from Tiger Ventures, but his commitment to his school and his community will be visible for years to come! The funding of his project was made possible by the Town of Union for supplies and an anonymous doner for Emily's time.
