"Jessica is an absolute leader both in and out of school."
Last week, students and staff at CFJ celebrated as Assistant Principal Jessica Phillips was inducted into the Binghamton University Athletics Hall of Fame for Softball. Some of her notable achievements include belting 44 career home runs and driving home 122 runs. On Tuesday, October 1, students were discretely given "Jessica-themed" coloring sheets and brought them to Jessica on Thursday.

“Thank you all for the love and support.” Said Jessica on Thursday, “I feel very lucky to be a part of this CFJ Family! Go Bearcats!” She was inducted on Saturday, October 3.
CFJ Principal JonMichael Shea wrote a short message highlighting his appreciation and congratulations to Jessica:
"This is such an amazing and well-deserved honor. I have been lucky enough to know Jess since we were both hired as teachers at TJW in 2014. For the past 5 years I have been honored to work alongside Jess as the principal of Charles F. Johnson, Jr. Elementary School.
Jessica is an absolute leader both in and out of school. The amount of time and effort she puts into her job here at CFJ is unmatched, and I know that there is no way I could do this job without her. She makes me a better leader and overall person every single day. Students and staff adore Jess. From going outside for recess to play football (where she still gets to show off that canon of an arm she had at BU) to supporting all staff by being consistently visible and there to help, there is no one better.
Jessica is so humble that she probably doesn't even think she deserves this recognition. She is someone who should be continually celebrated for being one of the best people I know. I consider myself so lucky to know Jess and am extremely proud of her!"
