Tiger Ventures staff kicked off the 2026–27 school year with great energy and a shared focus on how the work happening across the district connects to the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. The opening staff meeting provided an opportunity for staff to reflect on the many ways Tiger Ventures supports students academically, behaviorally and socially-emotionally, while building strong relationships and a positive school culture.
Staff explored MTSS as a framework that brings together the people, practices and systems that help ensure every student has the support needed to be successful. Through interactive activities, including card games designed to encourage conversation and collaboration, staff examined the importance of connection, communication, teamwork and a strong sense of belonging in creating supportive school environments.
Tiger Ventures, an innovative education program, is an example of how MTSS can look different for different students while maintaining the same goal: helping every student find a pathway to success. Tiger Ventures provides students with hands-on learning experiences, individualized support and opportunities to develop academic, career and life skills in a supportive environment.
By connecting the district’s everyday work to the MTSS framework, the opening meeting reinforced that supporting students is not the responsibility of one person, program or classroom. It is a shared commitment across U-E to meet students where they are, build on their strengths and provide the relationships and resources they need to grow.
