JFS middle school

Moving from elementary school to middle school is an exciting milestone. It brings new experiences, new responsibilities, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. While the transition may feel a little overwhelming at first, JFS Prep Academy is helping incoming sixth graders feel confident and ready for this next chapter.

Beginning this morning, incoming sixth graders are spending three mornings at Jennie F. Snapp Middle School getting familiar with their new school and learning what to expect when the school year begins.JFS Prep Academy

With a new school comes new routines and expectations. Students are introduced to lockers, multiple classrooms and teachers, a larger building, and the importance of staying organized and managing their time. During Prep Academy, students tour the building, locate their classrooms, practice opening their lockers, and become familiar with the daily routines of middle school.

Students also have the opportunity to meet JFS Student Ambassadors, who share their own experiences and offer helpful advice about homework, clubs, co-curricular activities, making new friends, and getting involved in school.

Prep Academy is designed to give incoming sixth graders a comfortable introduction to middle school before the first official day of classes. By the time students walk through the doors on September 10, they will have a better understanding of their new surroundings, greater confidence in navigating their school, and an idea of the many opportunities that await them.

The next chapter of their education is about to begin—and JFS is ready to welcome its newest Tigers!
