UEHS Class of 2017 graduate Jacob Waitkus has been making an impact in the world of science! After graduating from UE, Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in materials processing from RIT in 2022. He then continued his education at UC Riverside, where he is now in his fourth year as a Ph.D. candidate in chemistry.
Jacob recently received a $120,000 USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Predoctoral Fellowship to support his research focused on developing rapid detection methods for antimicrobial resistance.
