Eighth grade students in Bryan Tran’s French classes celebrated another successful Community-Engaged Learning project this semester at Binghamton University. In partnership with Professor Elizabeth Clarke’s French classes at BU, JFS students read, analyzed, and illustrated children’s books written by the university students. To celebrate their hard work and collaboration, the students gathered on campus for a French-themed meal featuring toasted ham and cheese croissants, macarons, cake, and lemonade. During the visit, JFS students met the authors of the books, shared their interpretations, and discussed their illustrations. Eighth grade student Jaxon Judge said, “It was fun to be on a college campus as a middle schooler and the experience helped me expand my French skills.” Congratulations to all students on a fantastic job well done!
