UE Tiger

In a moment filled with both deep sorrow and heartfelt joy, the UE Varsity Baseball Team, alongside the school community, gathered for a special ceremony and celebration before its home game. While the team has competed on the new turf since the start of the season, this occasion welcomed the community to share in the excitement of the field’s unveiling. At the same time, a solemn and meaningful tribute was held as a beautiful plaque was presented to Dan, Olivia, Ferrellsand Landon Ferrell in memory of Tiffany, a devoted wife and mother, and Colin, a beloved son and brother. Colin, Class of 2024 and a varsity baseball player, and his mother Tiffany, a passionate supporter of all things UE, tragically lost their lives in a car accident while returning home from a college visit in July 2024. The plaque is permanently placed under a tree near the baseball field.

Following a moment of silence, and after sharing baseballphotos, embraces, and quiet support with the Ferrell family, the team took the field for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally open the new turf. UE board member and former baseball coach Lou Ferraro then delivered the ceremonial first pitch. During the National Anthem, the entire Little League program stood alongside the varsity players, a display of the past, present, and future.

Life often holds joy and sorrow side by side. While Colin and Tiffany are deeply missed, their presence remains a lasting part of this community. As the plaque reminds us, they will never be forgotten. The new turf stands as a source of pride for our campus, and this meaningful afternoon reflected both remembrance and celebration; a true expression of #TigerPride. Click here to view photo album.
