The UEHS History Club recently took a trip to the Endicott History and Heritage Center on Washington Avenue, and it turned out to be more than just a field trip. As students walked through the exhibits, they were able to see how national events and broader trends connected directly their community.

The museum’s displays highlight the industries that helped build Endicott, especially the impact of at museum companies like Endicott Johnson, along with the stories of the workers and families who lived here for generations. Old photographs, artifacts, and personal stories gave students a clearer picture of what daily life looked like decades ago.

A few students were especially excited to recognize familiar last names and even discover connections to their own family histories within the exhibits.

The Endicott History and Heritage Center truly is a hidden gem. It captures the character, resilience, and growth of our area, reminding visitors that local history matters just as much as the stories found in textbooks.
