Although he didn’t have a clear career path at first, UEHS Class of 2022 graduate Noah Ausby was always drawn to barbering and has since turned that interest into his current profession.

His journey began during quarantine, when he spent hours watching haircutting videos and practicing on friends and family. “It’s always been my nature to make people feel good about themselves and giving someone a new haircut seems super satisfying,” he said.

NoahBefore stepping into barbering full time, Noah worked as a server at a local restaurant, but he knew that path wouldn’t support his long-term goals. After meeting Studio 11 owner Nick Sorrenti, Noah began training under him and has spent the last two years sharpening his skills. Working at Studio 11 accelerated his growth, and learning directly from a professional like Nick taught him what it takes to succeed not only as a barber, but also as a business owner.

The hands-on experience Noah has gained has also opened doors for his future ambitions. He plans to eventually transition into real estate, using barbering as both a catalyst and a reliable source of supplemental income. “This is a great starting point because I love cutting hair and meeting new people every day. People will always need a haircut. No matter where I live or what I do, I will always have this skill,” he said.

While this wasn’t where Noah originally pictured himself, he’s embraced the journey. His advice to current students is to “better yourself every day to become the person you want to be.” Noah chose not to attend college, instead focusing on building a career through hard work and dedication. Today, he’s a young, successful barber with a growing and loyal client list.

He added, “Have faith in the future and don’t stress because God’s plan will prevail. Trust in the process and good luck to all U-E Tigers!”
