Holiday BackPack Repack brought district leaders and community partners together on Dec. 10 at The Eagles Cupboard at TRA in Whitney Point. Superintendents, county legislators, and volunteers packed food bags to support students who face food insecurity over the holiday break.
Many children rely on schools for daily meals. With schools closed for winter break, these partners
stepped in to make sure students have food at home. This effort is a collaboration with the Food Bank of the Southern Tier , the Broome County Food Council , and the BOCES School Nutrition Services Rock on Café .
Holiday BackPack Repack is part of the BackPack Program, which provides dependable food access for families during weekends and school breaks. This work helps support local children and strengthens our community. Thank you to our own Dr. Nicole Wolfe for being a part of this effort.
