Bus #259, known as “The Cow”, runs on a strong sense of community thanks to driver Robert Davis and attendant Val Jochum. They treat the bus like a family, reminding students that they support one another and move through each day as a team.
To honor the spirit of the holiday season, students are invited to bring one unopened, nonperishable food item to support the U-E Food Pantry. Along with keeping the bus running smoothly, Mr. Davis and Ms. Jochum work to teach students the power of simple giving and help them build a foundation of connection, gratitude, purpose, and compassion.
“We want to show them that giving connects us to something larger than our individual selves,” they said.
The food drive runs through December 10.
