Last week, teacher and club adviser Amalia Roma-Circensi, students Karen Bermeo, Giada Circensi , Lukas Diamantakos, Allison Mariano, and Isabella Minna from the UEHS Italian Club brought warmth, laughter, and a love of storytelling to Castle Gardens Nursing Home. Their visit wasn’t just about reading—it was about connection.
With short stories, poems, and children’s books in hand, the students shared moments of joy with the residents, turning a simple reading session into something far more meaningful. For one hour, they weren’t just students and listeners—they were companions, creating a space filled with smiles, conversation, and connection.
The most rewarding part of the visit came in the form of genuine gratitude from the residents. Their smiles and kind words were a powerful reminder of the impact that small acts of kindness can have.
What began as an outreach activity quickly became a celebration of community, compassion, and the timeless joy of storytelling. It was an experience that left both students and residents with lasting memories and a shared sense of joy.
The UEHS Italian Club looks forward to many more opportunities to connect, give back, and continue building these meaningful relationships.
