UE BOE recognition

Tiger Ventures juniors and seniors were recently recognized by the BOE for their volunteer efforts over the past several months. Students have been active across the school and local community, contributing their time and energy to a wide range of events and initiatives.

Their service included volunteering at a Pre-K family farm event, supporting a fundraiser for UE teacher Nick Greco, helping launch the new West Corners Food Pantry, assisting with the school community Thanksgiving dinner, packing boxes for the CCE Holiday Giving Box event, and organizing and running their own Student Maker Market. Staff highlighted the many ways students stepped up to serve others and strengthen connections both within the school and beyond it. Click here to see more photos

BOE RecognitionThe board also recognized staff members who made these opportunities possible. Several staff were thanked for organizing events, serving alongside students, providing transportation, coordinating logistics, carrying supplies, reaching out to community partners, and managing countless details behind the scenes. Special recognition was given to the program’s administrative interns, whose support made it possible to take on so many service projects this fall.

In addition, the school expressed gratitude to its Cornell Cooperative Extension partners. This year marked a significant expansion of collaboration. One partner who had previously worked with the program took on an expanded role through new grant opportunities, and the addition of the UNITY program brought new CCE partners into the building. Their energy, enthusiasm, and genuine care for students have made them invaluable collaborators.
