On Friday afternoon from 3 to 6 p.m., Tiger Ventures School opened its doors to the community for a student-run Makers Market. The event gave students the chance to showcase their creativity, business skills, and hard work through a fully coordinated retail experience.
The market featured a wide variety of handcrafted items made by students, including holiday
ornaments, jewelry, wreaths, and wooden holiday signs. Each table reflected hours of planning and hands-on effort, with students proudly explaining how their products were designed, priced, and made.
In addition to handmade goods, visitors could stop by a baked goods sale filled with homemade treats or grab a drink at the coffee bar, both run by students.
The Makers Market was open to the public and designed as a real-world learning opportunity. Through Tiger Ventures, students practice skills they are developing in the classroom, including customer service, teamwork, time management, and meeting project deadlines.
Students also organized a basket raffle, and they proudly displayed their gingerbread houses, another creative project that highlighted both artistic skills and attention to detail.

Through this work-based learning experience, students gained insight into the ins and outs of running a retail store.
The Tiger Ventures Makers Market was not only a successful community event, but also a meaningful learning experience that allowed students to apply their skills in a real and practical way. By the end of the afternoon, shelves were lighter, baskets were raffled off, and students walked away with confidence built through experience.
