UEHS recently welcomed eighth-grade students for a special visit designed to help ease the transition to high school. The day began with a question-and-answer panel featuring senior students, who shared their experiences and offered advice about academics, extracurricular activities and life at the high school. Eighth graders had the opportunity to ask questions about class schedules, managing coursework, getting involved in clubs, sports and other activities, and what to expect during their freshman year.
Following the panel, seniors led guided tours throughout the building, introducing students to
key areas including the library, cafeteria, gymnasium, main offices and classroom spaces. Along the way, they highlighted the many opportunities available at UEHS and emphasized the importance of getting involved early to make the most of the high school experience.
The visit also gave students a chance to learn about the support systems in place at UEHS. Seniors spoke about how teachers, counselors, administrators and staff work together to help students succeed academically, socially and emotionally, always keeping students' best interests at the center of their work. The experience provided valuable insight into high school life while helping future Tigers feel more comfortable and confident about the transition ahead. Thank you to our seniors for spending time with these incoming freshmen.
