Students across the district found meaningful ways to recognize veterans with each school adding its own touch to the tradition. The focus stayed on gratitude, connection, and respect for the men and women who have served.
Students visited a local veterans home, spending time with residents, asking questions, and listening to stories that brought history to life.
Students read America’s White Table, using the book to spark conversations about sacrifice and symbolism. Students also expressed their thanks through writing cards and notes with personal messages, careful drawings, and simple statements of appreciation. Some of the cards were delivered to local veterans organizations, while others were shared during in-school
ceremonies.
Each ceremony, regardless of size, gave students a chance to stand together and say “thank you” in their own words. Flags were raised, names were read, and songs were sung.
Throughout the district, the tone stayed consistent: students honoring service through real actions. Whether they were shaking a veteran’s hand, sharing a story, or signing their name at the bottom of a card, they made it clear that the gratitude wasn’t just symbolic, it came from a place of genuine respect.
