At the most recent Union-Endicott School Board meeting, a heartfelt tribute was made official: the U-E cross country course and its finish line will be named in honor of two beloved coaches, Larry Hynes and Bob Osborne.

Both coaches left an enduring legacy on the program, shaping the lives of countless student-athletes with their dedication, leadership, and love for the sport.

Present at the board meeting were Carol Hynes, Greg Osborne, and Linda Osborne-Jodon, who witnessed the board’s formal acceptance of the naming proposal—a moment filled with pride.cross country naming

To commemorate this special dedication, a ceremony will be held on the morning of Saturday, October 25, before the start of the STAC cross country meet at AGM. The event will be led by current U-E cross country coach Dan Bertoni.

This naming serves as a lasting reminder of the values Coach Hynes and Coach Osborne instilled in their athletes—hard work, perseverance, and team spirit—and ensures their memory will continue to inspire future generations of Tigers.
