While summer break is in full swing, Sebastian has been hard at work practicing his viola thanks to a custom prosthetic hand designed and created by students of the Union-Endicott High School Class of 2026 who were in Corey Munn's Engineering & Design class.
This morning, graduates Teagan McGuinness and Jack Kiernan reunited with Sebastian, his music teacher Heather Worden, and Corey Munn at TJW Elementary School as WBNG, WIVT, and WICZ Fox 40 visited to share the inspiring story behind this incredible collaboration.
What began as an engineering challenge became a life-changing opportunity, giving an elementary student with a disability the ability to play the instrument he loves while providing students with a meaningful, real-world project that made a lasting impact.
Be sure to tune in this evening to WBNG and WIVT, and later this month to WICZ Fox 40, to see this heartwarming story!
