UEHS senior and New York State champion wrestler Teagan McGuinness will celebrate her commitment to wrestle at the next level during a ceremony on Monday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m. in the UEHS Tree Room. Teagan will continue her academic and athletic career at Division I Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she will compete in women’s wrestling in the 180-pound weight class.

At Lehigh, she plans to major in Integrated Business and Engineering and has been accepted into Teagan the university’s Honors Program.

Teagan has been a member of the Union-Endicott girls varsity wrestling team for three years and has built one of the most accomplished careers in the program’s history. Her achievements include winning the 2026 New York State Girls Wrestling Championship and finishing as the 2025 New York State finalist. She is a three-time Section IV champion and the 2025 STAC champion.Teagan

During the 2025–26 season, Teagan posted a perfect 36–0 record and currently holds an 81–9 career varsity record, the most wins by a Union-Endicott girls wrestler. She was named the 2025 Section IV Girls Wrestler of the Year and received the 2026 Section IV Sportsmanship Award.

On the national stage, she is a two-time Fargo National Qualifier and won the 2024 Irish National Open Girls Championship. She is currently ranked No. 5 in the nation at 190 pounds by Sports Illustrated and is the first girls wrestling state champion in Union-Endicott history.

In the classroom, Teagan ranks third academically in the Union-Endicott High School Class of 2026.
