The UEHS Italian Club recently brought the beloved tradition of La Befana to life by visiting our UE elementary schools to share this cherished Italian holiday story. Club advisors and officers delighted students by telling the tale of Befana, the kind-hearted old woman who travels on Epiphany Eve delivering gifts to children. Through storytelling and conversation, students learned about the cultural roots of the holiday and its message of generosity, kindness, and joy.

Adding to the excitement, Befana herself made a special appearance, much to the delight of the children, delivering treats to all the good little boys and girls. Smiles and laughter filled each school as students celebrated this festive moment.

A special thank you goes out to our local grocery stores, Wegman’s and Weis, for their generous donations, and an extra note of appreciation to Sam’s Club for donating candy canes, which helped make this celebration truly magical. The Italian Club is proud to share this tradition and spread holiday cheer throughout the school community. Buona Befana e Felice Anno Nuovo a tutti! Click here to view more photos
