Congratulations to Union-Endicott High School senior Reese Dimon, who has been recognized as a 2026 National Merit Semifinalist. Reese is among 16,000 top-performing high school seniors nationwide honored for their outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.
Students were notified of their selection through their schools and will now move forward in the competition by completing a scholarship application. Finalists will be announced in February 2026, with winners chosen later in the spring.
In total, nearly $26 million in scholarships will be awarded. About half of the Finalists will earn a National Merit Scholarship, which may include a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship, a corporate-sponsored award, or a scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Merit Scholars are selected not only for their academic achievement but also for their accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Reese’s recognition reflects her hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
