Union-Endicott High School has been named a 2024–25 Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished School—one of only a select number of high schools nationwide to receive this honor. The recognition highlights UEHS’s strong commitment to student achievement in STEM education through its PLTW Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical Science programs.
Led by veteran educators Thomas Palazzo, Michael Wichowski, and Corey Munn—each recognized as NYS Teacher of the Year in recent years—the program has expanded rapidly since 2021. Highlights include new courses in Civil and Aerospace Engineering, advanced construction technologies, drone and flight simulation systems, and CNC machining tied to real-world internships.
“We are proud to honor Union-Endicott High School for their commitment to providing students with exceptional educational experiences through PLTW programs,” said Dr. David Dimmett, PLTW President and CEO. "This achievement celebrates their dedication to student achievement and their focus on empowering students with the knowledge and skills necessary for success in school and a wide range of post-secondary opportunities.”
This honor reflects the department’s drive for innovation and excellence in preparing students for future careers in STEM.
