Union-Endicott
Community,
The local
school districts have been waiting for the Governor to announce the end of the
school year. Since this information has not been forthcoming, we believe
it will be left to the individual school districts to make a final
decision.
Here are
the tentative dates for your information, with dates subject to change if the
State gives further guidance on the last day of school.
- Last
Day for Students – The last day for students
will be Friday, June 12th.
- Desk/Locker
Clean-up and School Events/Celebrations
– Desk and locker clean-up, moving-up ceremonies and other events and
celebrations will be determined at the building level.
- HS
Graduation – We are still planning to
have the graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 27th.
However, we must wait for a State decision (which may be delegated to the
local government) on the type of ceremony we are allowed to have based on
social distancing requirements. We have options prepared, and we
will notify you once we get the “go ahead” to proceed.
- Rotary
Food Boxes – The last Rotary food box
delivery will be on Friday, June 26th. We are working
with other agencies to see if they are able to continue the food boxes
during the summer.
- Summer
Grab & Go Breakfast and Lunch – The
current grab and go meals will end on June 30th. A new
schedule will be available for the summer (July 1-August 31), but with
updated dates, times and locations. Stay tuned for more information.
- Summer
Programs – We are still waiting on
guidance from the State on high school summer school, BOCES summer school
and UE summer enrichment.
Have a
wonderful holiday weekend, and I will continue to update you as information
becomes available. *A reminder, the food sites are closed on Monday,
but they will be open on Tuesday and Thursday next week.
Sincerely,
Nicole
