2005 grad completes residency
Catherine
U-E is proud to recognize our Tiger alumni who have found success after leaving the halls of our schools. UEHS Class of 2005 graduate Catherine (Simone) Dickinson recently graduated from General Surgery Residency at Brown University.

During her time at the Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital General Surgery program, Catherine has been recognized several times for her outstanding achievements. She has been published multiple times in professional journals, including the “Journal of Surgical Infections,” “Journal of Intensive Care,” “European Journal of Pediatric Surgery”, and the “Journal of Surgical Infections.” Her papers have won awards and she has received several accolades from Brown University, including the Academic Achievement Award three times; The Russel D. White Award for Professionalism and Ethics in Surgery, and the Andrew J. Dowd Award for best clinical written abstract. She also received the best Resident Teaching Award as voted on by Brown Alpert Medical School students and the Hero of the Quarter Award voted on by nurses and practitioners within Rhode Island Hospital to a colleague who exemplifies the highest degree of care and compassion towards patients, nurses, and colleagues.

In August, Catherine will travel to Naples, Italy where she will begin her duty as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy and serve as a General Surgeon in the largest Naval Hospital in Europe.
Catherine and her husband Ryan have three children ages seven, four and two. They are looking forward to living in Naples.
