June 8 update
On behalf of the school district, I would like to acknowledge the
peaceful protests taking place across the nation. These protests are a
powerful reminder of the important work we have to do as a society to create a
better and more inclusive world for all children and families. Our
district’s first priority is to keep students safe, both physically and
emotionally. If students were attending school, our faculty and staff would be
engaging in conversations to help them process the events occurring, but we realize
the current circumstances are challenging for parents who are working and
supporting children at home. I have included a list of resources we have
compiled to help you and support you in talking with your children about
protests, racism and violence. However, if your child needs additional
assistance and would like someone to talk to, please contact your child’s
teacher, principal or email me directly at [email protected]. In
addition, we are planning community zoom sessions focused on the topic of
racial justice. Please feel free to join these
