The day finally arrived. After many weeks of wondering if there would be a graduation ceremony at all, UEHS staff and family celebrated seven smaller ceremonies at Ty Cobb Stadium on Sunday, June 28.
The ceremonies included a live speech by Superintendent Nicole Wolfe, and prerecorded speeches from Daniel Vriesema-salutatorian; Alex Cass-class president, and Cole Rivell-valedictorian.
After their names were called, students walked up to receive their diplomas. Following each ceremony, students were able to get photos at the stadium as well as at various locations around town, including all four elementary schools, JFS middle school, and other landmarks.
With the help of many dedicated staff, district and building leaders and the board of education, and even a rain delay, the day went smoothly and it was wonderful for this class to have an in-person ceremony.
Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
