March 14 update from Nicole
With the State of Emergency being announced this afternoon, the Union-Endicott Schools will be closed from Monday, March 16 through Monday, April 13, with a return to school on Tuesday, April 14.
Our district leadership team has been working this afternoon to plan for this time off, and we will continue to keep you posted. What’s most important is for families to know that food will be available outside of the CFJ, JFS and UEHS buildings on Mondays – Fridays from 10: a.m.– 1 p.m. During that time, the food services staff will provide “grab and go” breakfast and lunch bags for all children in community through the age of 18.
There will be no mandated home instruction during this time. Instead, we will be offering resources on the website for elementary, middle and high school students. We realize not all families have access to technology, and some of our students require accommodations. Therefore, your children can use this time to review previously taught materials, explore resources on the website (coming soon), or do other at-home activities of your choice.
The buildings will be open on Monday for students and staff to pick up urgent items. If you have questions, please email me at [email protected], and I will forward it to the district leader who is overseeing that area for clarification.
Thank you and stay safe during this time off.
