BOE recognition

At its regular meeting on December 10, the Board of Education took a few moments to recognize a two members of our U-E community.

CFJ aide Nicole Deering was recognized for her heroic efforts in using the Heimlich maneuver on a student who was choking. She saw the boy give the choking signal and she immediately went into action, using the maneuver to help dislodge the food. Because of her quick thinking, a potential crisis was averted.

UEHS senior Beatrice Watt was recognized for displaying what effort truly means. During motivational speaker Arel Moodie’s presentation, he challenged Beatrice to retrieve a $10 bill that was taped to the wall just out of her reach. Through perseverance and effort, she got that $10! The theme of Moodie’s presentation is that effort is everything and Beatrice was the epitome of effort in getting that $10.

U-E is full of caring, motivated people, and Nicole and Beatrice are two wonderful examples of what U-E is all about! #TigerPride
