Members of the JFS Student Council attended Vestal Middle School's 4th Annual Regional Middle School Student Council/Government Workshop on November 8.
Middle School students from a dozen districts in the area attended the conference, which featured team-building activities, group sessions led by faculty and administrators from Vestal and a guest presenter from Binghamton University, as well as a collaborative community-service challenge to benefit Danielle House.
These group workshops included topics ranging from musical leadership to a discussion on what you need to succeed. Our students learned team-work strategies, leadership skills, and had the opportunity to learn from and talk with students from other middle school student councils.
Vestal Middle School, in conjunction with its student council, hosted the first regional conference in 2015 as an opportunity for local students in grades 6 – 8 to learn more about leadership roles, share ideas and build relationships with other students in the region.
