X-country team works to give back

While it may be the lazy days of summer, the U-E Cross Country team stayed busy this past weekend to give back to the community.

First, student-athlete Johnny Rockwell completed part of his Eagle Scout project with the help of his teammates. They spent the morning widening trails and digging holes for new signage for the team’s home cross country course. Everyone, from school leaders, grounds keepers, board members, student-athletes and parents helped make our U-E cross country course a great place to host competitions.

On Sunday over 20 team members ran in the Kelly Labare 5k at Spiedie Fest. Student-athletes ran in memory of Kelly, a U-E graduate, and all runners who have left us too soon.

Coach Deb Avery was a top finisher in her division while our youngest girls Dakota Limbert, Maddie Buckley, and Bethany Bilek, swept their division!
Thank you for all your work! #TigerPride
