Welcome to U-E

new teachers

The district, over two days, welcomed 27 new teachers at its Smart Start Induction program, designed to provide our newest teaching Tigers all the information they need to begin their new careers at U-E.

On day one, after introductions, teachers and leadership team members spent time getting to know each other through various ice-breaker activities. Other information included OLWEUS training, technology overview, project-based learning, and professional development opportunities.

The day culminated with a district-wide bus tour led by retired principal Mario Salati. They visited the Endicott Visitor Center where they learned about the history of Endicott, traveled to each school building and stopped at a few prominent locations including IBM.

Day two included work sessions on special education, classroom management, Tiger Pride, and a time for questions and discussions. The afternoon was spent in buildings working with their mentors and learning about building policies and procedures.

The program was a wonderful way to introduce new staff to the culture and pride that is U-E Tigers.
Welcome! We are glad you are here!
