Friendship a priority for students

YES leads group
UEHS YES Leaders traveled to GFJ to visit with third-grade students to talk about friendship and work with them on friendship skills.

Friendship skills are important because friendship is the foundation of building strong positive relationships. Friends can help keep each other from staying out of trouble and avoiding bad behaviors.

YES Leaders worked with small groups of third grades to complete five different station activities as they talked to students about building quality friendships.

The five stations include:
“Banner Messages” to hang in the classroom.
Flower-Making” to give to someone special.
“Card Design” to create for Valentine’s Day.
“Brown Bag Notes” to pass along to a friend in class.
“Friendship Bracelets” that students wear to help remind them of what a true friend really is.
