Students earn Seal of Biliteracy

Students
As our economy and our world becomes more global the need to learn another language is becoming more important. To that end, UEHS held its first Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony as six UEHS seniors were recognized for proficiency in English and a World Language. Congratulations to the following students who earned this seal in the Italian language.

Tobias Gusefski
Sophie Hart
Jennifer Lee
Nicholas Pisani

Jared Welch

The Seal of Biliteracy is a formal recognition of a student’s high level of proficiency reading, writing, listening and speaking in English and a World Language. High school seniors receiving the seal must meet specific Regents and AP score requirements as well as world language checkpoints in both English and the world language. A culminating presentation in the target language to a panel of language experts is also required to earn the seal.
