Girls step into coding

SciGirls CODE, an afterschool program, has been meeting once a week during the school year with Bobbi Rosenberger and support from WSKG Public Media and SciGirls.

The girls have learned programming language, problem solving skills, computational thinking and debugging. During the past year they worked on creating several mobile apps ranging from a magic 8-ball, a compliment app to designing their own application that solved a problem for a student. Rosenberger guided this team of girls to create a mobile app that they shared with parents and school leadership during the showcase. Her dedication to this program is evident and shines through the girl's work.

SciGirls was created to engage girls in STEM opportunities during a time when they begin to lose interest in science and technology for a variety of reasons. This program has engaged and empowered these young ladies with new skills increasing their confidence while providing opportunities for them to explore and grow. Thank you for your continued support of SciGirls CODE.
