Students travel to Boston

Students in Boston
It was a trip to learn about history and science, and see the sites of one of the oldest cities in the country as 40 seventh graders recently visited historic Boston. This trip was an opportunity for students to visit the birthplace of the American Revolution and tied into their social studies and science curriculums.

The students spent the year doing a variety of fundraisers to help pay for this trip as generous contributions made through Donor’s Choose. The students spent part of their first day at New England Six Flags Amusement Park, and took a trip back in time with the Freedom Trail Tour.

Day two was spent at the New England Aquarium and students also rode on a fast moving boat called “Codzilla.” To slow things down a bit, students were given a tour of Boston via the world famous Boston Duck Tours where they rode in an amphibious vehicles around the city and into the Charles River. Along the way, the tour guides kept everyone entertained with their humor and their knowledge of the history of Boston.

Capping off the second day of the trip was a visit to the Tea Party Museum where students got the chance to bring history to life and actively partake in the Boston Tea Party.

The final day concluded with a tour of historic Fenway Park and some shopping and tasty food at Quincy Market.  Although the trip lasted just a few days, a lifetime of memories was made.
