State education commissioner visits JFS
The Commissioner of the New York State Education Department, MaryEllen Elia, visited Jennie F. Snapp Middle School to see first hand how and what UE students are learning. Her visit was part of a day-long visit to Broome County.
While at JFS, she talked with students and staff, observed instruction in a number of classrooms and saw the integration of technology in science, language and English classes.
Throughout the day, the commissioner met with parents, students, staff, administrators and board members from schools in the Broome-Tioga BOCES region to learn about the issues facing the area as well as the wonderful opportunities and education students receive.
