Nothing says fall like the tastes and smells of the Cider Mill and CFJ first-graders recently enjoyed a fall morning at this favorite local spot. Students toured the mill where they saw the cider and donuts being made. They learned different facts about the variety of apples that grow in New York and the steps to make the cider. Outside, students visited the market where they discovered pumpkins and gourds. They discussed how pumpkins grow, why some are so big, and the different shapes of gourds. After they walked back to school, it was time for the best part: donuts and cider for their morning snack!
