As part of the computer science curriculum, over 40 UEHS students participated in Hour of Code, a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science.
The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere can organize an Hour of Code event. It has engaged 10 percent of all students in the world and provides the leading curriculum for K-12 computer science in the largest school districts in the United States.
Hour of Code is organized by Code.org®, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science in schools and increasing participation by women and underrepresented minorities. Its vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra.
