Sled dogs visit TJW

Sled dog with student
What better way for students to see and feel what they read in a book when two beautiful dogs came to visit TJW.

As part of reading across the district, TJW, for the next four weeks, will participate in a special project called One School, One Book.

Each family received a copy of the book “The Adventures of a South Pole Pig” to read together at home. Throughout the month students will be exploring the book through discussion and fun activities.

To get started on this adventure, Sled Dogs of Smokey Hill was kind enough to come and share their knowledge and sled dogs with TJW. Students learned about where sled dogs come from, what they eat, how they live and train, what races they can do, and much more! It was a fun, hands on learning opportunity for all!
