Students compete in scholastic challenge

UEHS students at challenge
Students in the Entrepreneurship class at UEHS recently competed in the 9th annual Greater Binghamton Scholastic Challenge at Binghamton University against 250 students from local school districts.

Students were encouraged to think of an innovative business idea to write a business plan for and pitch their idea in front of industry professionals. Awards and scholarships were presented to the top business ideas in each category and overall individual and team winners for GBSC. Thomas Towery won the STEM individual category for his Weather Alarm app that will wake the user earlier depending on weather conditions. Michael Herceg won the Consumer Services individual category and was the overall individual winner of GBSC for "Quell," a murder mystery dinner idea for the Broome County area.

GBSC gives our business students a chance to apply real-world skills and network with business professionals to prepare them for college and careers.
