Dear Union-Endicott Community,
Thank you for responding to my request for input on
reopening schools. We are in the process of reviewing your feedback and taking
all ideas into consideration. Final
guidance from the state is due to be released on Wednesday.
Below is the timeline for our work:
- The week of July 13th: New York State
guidance will be received and analyzed. District
leaders will be put in charge of different areas included in the plan.
- The week of July 20th: The district
leaders will work with stakeholder teams to review and draft plans. Regional
conversations with other school districts will also be considered.
- The week of July 27th: The district
leaders will revise and edit plans for submission on July 31st.
The week of August 3rd: The Governor
will make a final decision on reopening schools, and plans will be communicated
to the community.
Our priority continues to be the safety of our students, families, faculty and staff members. The Governor’s decision is not in our control, but we are committed to following the rules and regulations of the State. Together, we will collaboratively develop a plan that meets the needs of our overall school community while restructuring the environment to best support students during this school year.
