UE alums talk about Diversity Cafe

Shortly after the winter break, UEHS English teacher Kelli Krieger hosted Lunch with Kriegs, an opportunity for students to meet during lunch and discuss a specific topic relating to students at the high school.

With the new UEHS Diversity Café scheduled to open in the spring, this month’s topic centered around the café, and its inception and purpose. Besides current students, special guests were UEHS alums who were instrumental in developing the concept of this space as well as Superintendent Nicole Wolfe.
UEHS graduates Bri Attey (via ZOOM), Maddie Mariano, Ewoma Amata, Skye Andrews, John Gales, and current senior Toan Luu answered questions and provided some background on why they felt a space like this was needed. Ms. Wolfe talked about the budget, design, and construction aspects of the café.
Students are looking forward to seeing the completed space. Thank you to all who made this possible.
