U-E hosts ceremony, dedication

Once a Tiger, always a Tiger! That was the theme on January 7 when the district hosted the 2022-23 Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony and  the Coach Charlie Tarricone Dedication.
During a reception and ceremony before the boys varsity basketball game, the following were inducted into the U-E Athletic Hall of Fame; Fran Boreffi, Sean Kerins, Bob Koban, Justin Leskow, Danielle Mastro Cross, Bill Stepanovsky, and Kylie Strom.
At halftime, legendary basketball coach Charlie Tarricone was honored with a bronze plaque recognizing him for his numerous coaching achievements. Coach Tarricone was a family man, coach, mentor, and winner. He coached at Seton and then at U-E with a total of 25 years as varsity head coach, nine Section IV championships, and state final appearances, and has been inducted into numerous local and state athletic hall of fame groups.
Coach Tarricone’s philosophy centered on the four “D’s”. Discipline, Dedication, Determination, and Defense. This philosophy was applied on the court and off the court. Coach Tarricone taught his players as much about life as he did about basketball. When you left Charlie’s team, you left a better player and a better person. Once He Coached You – You Stayed Coached.
The plaque will be located in the UEHS gym under the scoreboard. Congratulations to this year’s inductees and to the Tarricone family on the recognition for Coach. #onceaTigeralwaysaTiger #TigerPride
