UEHS students visit JFS

In keeping with the district theme of Cultivating a Culture of Collaboration and Community, UEHS student-athletes recently paid a visit to JFS where they talked with sixth graders in Steve Hamlin and Chris Kizis’ classes.
The young men and women from the high school shared the responsibilities that go along with being a student-athlete and stressed the importance of goal setting.
The high school students provided the younger students with helpful advice on how to become successful in middle school. They discussed homework, organization, using agendas, and asking for extra help. They reinforced the importance of getting involved in extra-curricular activities, making good decisions, and ways to handle peer pressure. They also answered many of the sixth graders' great questions about life at JFS and UEHS.
Our UEHS Tiger student-athletes certainly showed why they are role models and what U-E Tiger Pride is all about. Not only did our Tigers in the Middle see what it means to be a Tiger, but they also had a good time learning and sharing with the older students. It was a true testament to cultivating a Culture of Collaboration and Community and Tiger Pride!
