When current students meet past graduates, it’s a nice way to connect the past to the present. And two past graduates, Ed and Joyce (Keiper) Storm reconnected with their alma mater when they enjoyed a recent U-E golf match.
You see, Ed is a member of the Class of 1942 and played on the varsity golf team. He has wanted to attend a match but some health issues and the pandemic put it on hold. Not to be deterred, the now 99-year-old WWII POW finally got to see this year’s team
play. The boys surprised him with a card and U-E gear, including a golf shirt.
Finally, nearly 80 years after he played for the Tigers, Ed got to see a match. His wife, Joyce, UEHS Class of 1948, joined him on the course. Thank you to Coach Matt Morley, parent Brian Bertoni and the entire U-E Boys Golf Team for helping to make this such a special day for Ed and Joyce. These Tigers earned their stripes, and the entire U-E community is very proud of these young men!
