Isaiah Kacyvenski headlines JFS Olweus Kickoff
Jennie F. Snapp Middle School received a surprise visit from UE alum and retired NFL player Isaiah Kacyvenski to wrap up a busy week surrounding the kickoff of another year of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program.
Kacyvenski, a 1996 UE graduate, was invited by his sister, Catherine, the school's new principal. He told the 6-8 grade students that he was bullied in middle school, but it didn't stop him from going to Harvard and playing in the NFL.
The pep rally to kickoff Olweus also featured the UEHS "Tiger's Pride" Marching Band and UE cheerleaders. The event followed a JFS Spirit Week with different themed days, including Country Day, Twin Day, Decade Day, Favorite Sports Team Day, and finally Orange and Black Day. The spirit week and pep rally activities were organized by the JFS student government.
