PROJECTS
EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES
 EXTRA CREDIT?

Yes, there will be plenty of opportunities for extra credit but don’t just rely on extra credit for your success. Your success will come from being prepared and completing your assignments each day! You may watch any science related shows from Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, National Geographic, etc. or even news events related to science. You will need to write a short paragraph (5-7 sentences) about the show. Please have your parents sign the paper to verify that you watched the show and return the extra credit paper in your class bin. Each show will be worth 2 extra points. (If he/she had 8/10 on a quiz, those 2 points would now give him/her a 10/10 or 100%) You may also read any magazines or newspaper articles related to science and write a summary of the article, one paragraph, and cite the date and title of the newspaper article or magazine. These are worth up to 4 points. A printout off the Internet does not count as extra credit; it must be your work. You may also try an extra credit experiment at home. I have a lot of books with fun projects you can try at home. Or, you may want to try something we have done in class at home with your family.  Posters, songs, and skits are also welcomed.  The more imaginative and creative the better! These are worth up to 10 points.
