Students perform in youth symphony
The Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO) concluded its 56th season with a spring concert held recently at Binghamton High School Helen Foley Theater.
Under the direction of Conductor Barry G. Peters and Associate Conductor Elizabeth Bartlett, musicians from more than 20 school districts performed a varied program that included Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Overture, Brahms’ Tragic Overture, Slava! by Leonard Bernstein and more.
UE was well represented. Congratulations to the following student musicans who were selected to perform.
Union-Endicott High School
The Binghamton Youth Symphony is one of the oldest youth orchestras in the United States, organized in 1961 to enrich the musical education of elementary, middle, and high school students in the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania. Membership is open to students by audition.
