BCMEA Chorus and award
Recently, UE music teacher Suzanne Geer was awarded the 2017 BCMEA Distinguished Service Award after her students performed in the festival.
The award, in recognition for her many years of dedicated service to BCMEA and music education in Broome County was presented by Gail Markstein, BCMEA president.
Geer frequently adjudicates all-county auditions, was the BCMEA treasurer for six years, and continues to be a member of its executive council. In past years, she chaired various all-county music festival ensembles and has coordinated two music festivals.
She is currently teaching general music, chorus and string orchestra at CFJ.
The CFJ Chorus, under her direction, performed at the fesitval and are pictured below.
